White Oak Red 3 1/4 or 2 1/4 Select: White oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to heavy texture, and a more open and developed grain than that of its sister species red oak (white oak is also a harder wood than red oak). The red stain, however adds a warmness to the wood which increases it uniformity and consistency and also allows it to match natural red oak stair treads that have been clear-coated with ease. This wood is treated with a UV protectant solvent which prevents discoloration from direct sun light over time. It is also finished with an aluminum oxide finish for extra durability. White Oak Butterscotch 3 1/4 #1: White oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to heavy texture, and a more open and developed grain than that of its sister species red oak (white oak is also a harder wood than red oak). The dominant shade is a neutral brown earth tone, with mild variation ranging from dark beige to dark brown. The butterscotch stain (similar to a honey color) on the wood makes the coloration of the wood appear more warm, uniform and consistent than that of natural oaks. This wood is treated with a UV protectant solvent which prevents discoloration from direct sun light over time. It is also finished with an aluminum oxide finish for extra durability. All #2 Common Hardwood: This hardwood special is available in red oak, white oak, yellow birch, maple, silver maple, beech, cherry and ash (while supplies last). Each hardwood is available in multiple sizes and stains. This grade of hardwood is often used in bedrooms and cabins and is perfect for those looking for a rustic feel and style. This wood has 10 coats of finish with UV protection. Allow a minimum of 10% - 15% wastage for #2 grade (sometimes referred to as country, rustic, seconds, tavern) hardwoods. Many low quantities remain whereas sale has been on for past few weeks. Average quantity on hand of each type is 80 square feet or less. Great for borders, in-lays and mixing. |  |
Stair Treads 36" x 10.5" : These stair treads are made of solid red oak hardwood. These treads are a standard 36" wide by 10.5" deep and 1 1/16" of an inch thick. They are also available in 42", 48" and larger sizes (contact us for prices on other sizes). These treads come unfinished (however prefinished are available) and these treads are bullnosed on the front. Simply stain or clear-coat these treads to match any oak or ash (ash has a similar grain to oak) hardwood floor. We also supply spindles, posts and stair risers at very competitive prices. |  |
